Keep the memories not the uniform

I forgot to send an e-mail telling you to bring your uniforms to the banquette. I will need the uniforms back soon. I'll be on my honeymoon until the 21st of June. So please bring the uniforms back to me on the 22nd of June at 9:00am in front of the HS. If you can not bring it on that day then have a friend bring it for you. Please tell everybody that you ran with about the uniform return! I do not have everybody's email address. ( Flanders that means tell Ricky and Jake) I HAVE TO HAVE ALL OF THEM BACK, OR I'LL HAVE TO HEAR FROM MR.. HAURY!!!!! I do not want to have to go through that!!!! The booster club is cracking down on the uniforms and it is very nice of them to cover the cost. Each LOST uniforms will have to come out of the very meager team budget. If you want your same uniform back and you are on the CC team please put them in a clear bag with your name on it and I'll save it for you until the first meet.
I will need to order some new uniforms, those of you who are planning on keeping your shorts you will need to pay me the 20's. Some of you have already done so. So thank you!! I'm also looking at ordering some white jersey's for the top 10 runners for this up coming CC season.
Enjoy the summer and good luck with your training for this coming fall sports!!!

End-State

The final day of the State meet was a bit of a let down after all of the anticipation. It was a beautiful day. It was hot and sunny and hot. A friend at church yesterday referred to my kids as the "crispy clan". Next year we'll pack sun screen.
The boy's 4x800 finished a very disappointing 9th. They were in second with a lap to go but couldn't hold on. It was hard to watch. TJ finished his high school career with a nice split, and the other three have a year to figure out what happened and fix it.

Claire got boxed in at the beginning of the mile but was working her way up on the inside coming into the half when a runner in front of her tripped and knocked Claire down. By the time she got back up she was in last place. However Claire being Claire she worked her way back to third by the end. Not where she wanted to be but remarkable given the circumstances. Oddly enough it was at the same place that the bodies went down Friday in the boy's 800m.
The WFB 4x800 team was hitting on all cylinders. They set a new state record of 7:44 something. It was awesome to watch.

Finally Pede beat Perkins in the 3200m to make it a clean sweep of the distance events. And lacy took the D2 3200m to match his win in cross country.
There is an info meeting for CC tonight after school.
Since the season is changing I will transition back to the cross country site.
Cheers!

rumors of state
The D1 mile served up the first upset of the day. Dave Pede beat Perkins by almost 2 seconds. 4:13 to 4:15.
The drama however was apparently in the 800. With 200 to go Markson slipped by on the inside to take the lead. With 150 to go the guys were running 6 wide and Casperson tripped and took out several other runners. Markson won in 1:53 but places 2,4,5,8 ... came from the slow heat because of the crash. Casperson got DQ'd.
The D2 boys mile went in 4:18 w/ MacFarland getting edged at the tape.
Claire will be in the 3200 later, I'll post when the numbers go up.
Monro had two runners in the open 800 who ran 1:56. They will be on the 4x800 team next to us in the morning. We will have to really reach deep if we want to stay with them.
Updates when I get the chance.

Looking for results?
The official State Meet results are posted on the WIAA web site but they are cleverly hidden four layers deep. The link you want for the girl's results is here.
http://www.wiaawi.org/trackgirls/2006/stateresults.html
the boys results will be here.
http://www.wiaawi.org/trackboys/2006/stateresults.html
They should update it all day.
I will be driving up this afternoon so I won't be posting again until Sunday.
The Dyestat chat room will probably be active by this evening. Click on the link to the left to get to the home page; then click on "talk" at the top; then scroll down to the wisconsin page.

Banquet follow up
The Banquet last night was a somewhat truncated affair... a significant part of both teams had to leave early for an orchestra concert. Dom held his part to 10 minutes which left a good hour plus for the ladies and they needed it. The concert was spectacular by the by.
I put up a slide show at the end for the people who were still there. I can put it on disk for anyone who wants a copy. I am a little hesitant to buy the blank cd's and take the time if nobody is interested... so if you would like a copy or if you would be interested in making copies let me know in the comments and I'll get in touch with you.
Claire and the boy's should already be on their way to State. The numbers are small but the quality is undeniable.
Good Luck everybody!
