The London Marathon
I know that the American Media is ignoring it, but there are some great marathons being run and the Americans are finally starting to count at the end again. This last weekend the London marathon attracted one of the best collection of top runners in a long long time. On the women's side American Deena Kastor became the eighth women to break 2:20 winning easily in 2:19 and change. On the men's side the pack went out well under world record pace and then collectively hit the wall. After averaging 4:45 they tossed in a few 5 plus splits. At the end a pair of Kenyans kicked for the win after a 4:33 mile. The whole story is on the IAAF site here.
