Great new site

I just discovered this site : Flocasts I am sure that it has been around for awhile.

They have a huge collection of interviews with some of the best current and past runners and coaches in our sport. Guys like Shorter, Jennings, Tegenkamp, Wetmore, and others. It is well worth your time.

In particular they have a video up of Ryan Hall running the Aramco half marathon last week.
Ryan set a new American record of 59:43.

How fast is that?

That's 13 4:30 miles back to back.

That's a 5K split of 14:05... a 10K split of 28:20...

It was a huge run and he made it look easy. Watch for this guy in the '08 Olympics.

UWM results

There wasn't a huge crowd last night, mostly college runners from MSOE and UWM.
The men's 3000 went in a leisurly 9:17 and the mile was won in 4:31.

Andrew took second in the mile with 4:40. A decent first race.

There is another race next tuesday. It would be nice to see some more people out. This is a great chance to get some experience and see where you are at without the pressure of a normal meet.

Winter Running

Andrew officially started training for track yesterday. If anyone would like to run with him, I am sure he would appreciate the company.

For those of you who haven't been through this before, the track season is much shorter than Cross country and the big races come up really fast. It is important to at least be doing some base work now if you want to be competitive later.

Additionally, I know that Dom would like to take a group to the Penn relays, but that means running a qualifying time at the first indoor meet. You can't do that if you aren't already running.

It's a new year.
The weather is as good as it's ever going to be...
Get running!
